Muhammad Ali requested that his star not to be put on the sidewalk, because he didn’t want people to walk on him. They honored his request.

It was done because he didn’t want people stepping on the prophet’s name. This was not an act of vanity.

This is an important distinction. ^

I thought I’d share this post because we can all learn from it.

Muhammad Ali was a great boxer, probably one of the greatest fighters who has ever lived.

He truly was a Manly Man, in total possession of his Manhood.

Fighting truly produced and nurtured his Manliness.

He certainly had fight skills, a trained and conditioned body and most importantly also possessed the Moral Virtues.

He knew that he wasn’t perfect and he had the humility to admit it.

As a believer, a Man of Faith, he felt that it was very important to show Respect for the name of Muhammad, Sacred to him.

So this is why Ali’s Hollywood Star is on a wall (and not on the ground) so no one could ever step on that name and disrespect it. He protected the name.

“Float like a butterfly. Rest in peace, Mr. Ali”.
